This course is designed to teach students to develop and test server-side web applications based on the Java 2 platform, Enterprise Edition (JEE) component model using the IBM WebSphere software platform of products and tools. Students will develop and test Java Servlets and JavaServer Pages (JSPs) for the control and flow of e-business applications using RAD as the development environment. IBM Rational Application Developer (RAD) is the newest generation of Java application development environments built on the Eclipse open platform (www.eclipse.org). It has many new features that the traditional IDEs do not provide, including the role-based development models and the plug-in based flexibility of developing and adding new functionality to the environment.
