This course takes an administrator out of the world of a single machine into a networked environment. You will learn the basics of networking and subnetting. You will learn how to set up a Domain Name System (DNS) Server, a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Server, a Web Server, and a Samba Server. Then examine how to secure these servers, communicate securely between them, and monitor the overall system.

They will also be able to subnet or supernet their internal systems, dynamically assign IP addresses , monitor/filter TCP/IP traffic, sniff complete packets on their LANs, run an FTP server, integrate Window and Unix systems with Samba, and utilize tcp wrappers as an additional security measure.
